Group Financial Planning and Controls Manager

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Preparation of accounts. Monthly consolidation of the group financials to a tight deadline under IFRS across multiple currencies
• Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports
• Review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Group’s accounting records and financial systems
• Production of statutory accounts for the Group and its various subsidiary companies as and when required in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and the legislation of the countries in which they operate
• Play a full part in providing relevant & timely financial information to the Main Board to enable a balanced and objective assessment of the Group’s strategy and objectives
• Ad hoc reporting for institutional investors and banks
• Budgets and forecasts. Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans and continued monitoring & review of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to the Board and third party stakeholders
• Ad hoc forecasting/reforecasting exercises to ensure visibility of short, medium and long term financial expectations
• Ad hoc financial modelling of parts or all of the business. Implementation of cash forecasting system
• Financial management & controls. Monitoring and troubleshooting the working capital components of the Group with specific attention to stock, debtors and cash balances
• Manage the day-to-day treasury of the business across multiple currencies
• Monitoring of overheads whilst seeking out areas for efficiencies for savings
• Review and update, in line with good practice, the Group’s internal control environment and produce a Controls and Procedures manual for review and adoption by management
• To assist the Group Financial Controller in respect of periodic reports to the Group’s Audit Committee explaining the processes adopted and undertaken by management to keep under regular review the effectiveness of internal controls covering financial, operational & compliance controls
• Play an active role in assisting management in the risk assessment process and embedding a risk management culture throughout the organisation
• Actively monitor the stock management and standard costing system in place looking for efficiencies and improvements. Improving controls around the Group’s consolidation activities
• Taxation. Support the Group Financial Controller in the development and execution of the Group’s taxation strategy
• Ensure returns for Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant taxes are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with across the Group Information technology
• To take a lead role in the implementation of updates to the companies accounting system
• Working closely with IT to ensure users have access to the key components of the accounting system, receive adequate training and have the essential reports readily available to facilitate decision making and problem solving
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, brokers, bankers and other parties as directed by the Group Financial Controller
